Both of G-dragon’s drug test results have turned out negative, and now the blame shifts, where should it lie?

According to the police, singer G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong, 35), who was charged with drug use, received a negative result for drug detection in a detailed examination of his fingernails and toenails as well as the hair analysis.

According to the National Forensic Service (NFS), the agency recently notified the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency’s Drug Crime Investigation Unit that no drugs were detected in G-Dragon’s fingernails and toenails. The presence of drugs can be determined in fingernails up to 5-6 months after use.

In relation to this, a police official stated that they cannot disclose the results of the examination.

Police has acted based on the statement of the manager of a nightclub in Gangnam, Seoul, who was arrested in connection with a drug case, the police initiated an investigation believing that G-Dragon had used drugs. According to the nightclub manager, suspicious packaging was found in the restroom of the establishment shortly after G-Dragon had used it in early December last year, and G-Dragon’s behavior seemed strange afterwards.

As G-Dragon received negative results in the preliminary test, hair analysis, and now the detailed examination of his fingernails and toenails, it seems difficult for the police to avoid criticism that their investigation may be excessive.

The saga began last month, when media outlets began to report that a famous artist is accused of using drugs. G-dragon denied using drugs via a legal rep but was subsequently banned from travelling outside of Korea.

Despite G-dragon’s continuous denial, Korean media outlets persisted with their speculative reports, thus, G-dragon personally announced he’d volunteer to attend police questioning and provide samples for drug testing.
