Lee Sun Kyun And Gdragon Banned From Leaving The Country Amid Drug Investigation
Actor Lee Sun Kyun (48) and G-Dragon (35, real name Kwon Ji-yong), who were booked on charges of drug use, have been banned from leaving the country, and it is expected that the police investigation will speed up.
The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency’s Narcotics Crime Investigation Department confirmed on the 27th of October that the two individuals are currently staying in the country and imposed a travel ban through the Ministry of Justice.
The police plan to summon them soon to confirm if they used drugs through a drug test, including the type and frequency of drug use. A police official mentioned the possibility of requesting an arrest warrant depending on the investigation results.
The police have previously seized the mobile phone of A (29), the manager of a membership room salon in Gangnam, Seoul, who was arrested and requested digital forensics work. They will focus on analyzing A’s call records to confirm the suspicions of Lee Sun Kyun and G-Dragon while also examining whether there are any additional drug suspects.
Earlier on this day, G-Dragon released an official statement through his lawyer, claiming he has not used drugs. He stated, “I will actively cooperate with the investigation by the investigative agency and sincerely deal with it, knowing that many people are concerned.”
In addition, a doctor and an employee of an entertainment establishment have also been separately charged with drug supply and use suspicions, and five others, including a third-generation chaebol, a composer, and an aspiring singer, are under investigation.
