NCT DREAM’s Renjun has gained attention after publicly revealing malicious messages he received from a sasaeng (obsessive so-called fan) on a paid fan communication platform.

Recently, Renjun posted a screenshot of a message he received from one sasaeng fan on a fan communication platform and shared his response.

In the message, the sasaeng fan criticized idols, saying, “Idols have it too easy. They make money, have good looks, date freely, perform like trash, lack any depth of thought, and lack the fierceness of previous generations. Just relax and get rid of your phones again.”

In response, Renjun wrote, “Don’t hide like a rat and type. If you have something to say, say it to my face with a lawyer present. Contact this person and say what you want to say.”

He further shared the conversation on the fan communication platform, expressing, “Idols are also human beings. They feel exhausted. Are you going to judge us based on our absurd schedules? What’s visible must be beautiful and charming. That’s how we all get energy together.”

Renjun also advised, “If you pursue your dreams diligently, money will follow eventually. Are there jobs in the world that don’t earn money? Let’s live our lives properly. Don’t bother people who don’t matter and don’t waste your time.”

He added, “If you have time, learn how to calm your mind and stay calm. Don’t vent your anger on irrelevant people.”

This content garnered much attention not only on the fan communication platform but also on various online communities.

Renjun later apologized, saying, “I’m sorry. I should only share positive stories with the fans here, but I was shortsighted,” and deleted the post related to the sasaeng controversy.

Renjun, born in March 2000, is only 24 years old. He debuted as a Chinese member of NCT DREAM in August 2016 and is active as the main vocalist.
