IU’s agency has received protest trucks for the 1st time ever, here is why some fans sent them!

Some of IU fandom members are currently conducting a truck protest near the headquarters of Kakao Entertainment in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, criticizing IU’s agency, EDAM Entertainment. Kakao Entertainment is also the parent company of EDAM Entertainment.

The anger towards IU’s agency from some fans stems from recent criticisms that the agency had made unreasonable responses, such as mistakenly accusing a fan of using a fake ticket, blocking their entry to a concert, and permanently banning them from the fan club.

The fans participating in the truck protest stated, “The agency neglected a false rumor video that defamed the artist (IU) for a long time since May last year, causing the rumor to spread. We conducted two truck protests due to extreme anger, but the agency continues to neglect the rumor video and shows a lack of willingness to actively protect the artist by posting insincere statements.”

They further criticized, “The agency worsened the situation by releasing a ‘statement’ busy with only explanations, causing the artist to face criticism for incidents related to reporting illegal ticket activities, using an artist who is irrelevant to the field, and using demeaning words towards the audience, showing a cowardly attitude focused on hiding their mistakes, leading to more blatant and fierce criticisms against IU.”

They also expressed their disappointment, saying, “The agency always shields the artist and prioritizes the company’s image, causing IU fandom to feel extreme betrayal. We are conducting a truck protest to demand an apology and to express opposition to IU’s re-signing due to the agency’s deceptive attitude disregarding fans’ opinions.”

In the banners of truck protest, they criticized IU’s agency strongly by displaying slogans such as “Worst and incompetent EDAM Entertainment, absolute opposition to re-signing,” “EDAM Entertainment lacks ability to protect the artist,” “Careless handling of artist rumors,” and “When the agency is criticized, it is unfair to immediately react.”
