Stray Kids Hyunjin won’t be MCing this week’s episode of MBC’s “Music Core.”

On February 25, a source from the show revealed that Hyunjin won’t be participating in the recording of this week’s episode; ITZY’s Yeji will join as a special MC instead. The source explained that the agency recommended a replacement with a special MC but didn’t directly explain why he won’t be attending the recording.

It’s been stated through Korean news outlets that his absence is likely because of the recent school bullying allegations he’s facing. On February 22, a netizen claimed they were bullied by Hyunjin in middle school, they requested an apology from the idol. In response, JYP stated,

“We are doing our best efforts to confirm the facts regarding this issue.

At the time the problem was raised, we asked for the opinions of those who went to the same school as the member (Hyunjin). If the acquaintances gave us permission, we plan on going to listen to their opinions, and we are considering publishing it if they give us permission.”

They also added they would be taking strict legal action against the spreading of fake rumors.

However, new allegations against Hyunjin surfaced after JYP’s post, JYP has not addressed the new claims thus far.

On February 25, JYP Entertainment confirmed in a statement with Newsen that Stray Kids’ Hyunjin will be absent this upcoming Saturday, February 27th recording for MBC’s Music Core. The agency added that his participation in future schedules will be determined based on the circumstances,

“We will decide whether or not to proceed with future schedules depending on the circumstances.”

This idol joins the growing list of celebrities accused of being bullies amid a new movement, the list includes (G)I-DLE’s Soojin, LOONA’s Chuu, MONSTA X’s Kihyun, Sunwoo of THE BOYZ, ITZY Lia, Actress Park Hye Soo, SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu and Kim Dong Hee to name a few.

  1. i think if this does end up being just being people saying random stuff then i just think there doing these things to kpop idols and maybe other idols because they want to be seen but one thing they may not think about and all make the same mistake is us fans don´t see them in any good ways and that they should stop trying cuz if they really like or hate them they can be them but the things they do are on a bunch of diffarent levels so if anyone who sees this is think of doing something like this please don´t just think about your actions
