JYP Entertainment has stepped in to deny the recent accusations made against ITZY Lia!
On February 24, a netizen (A) claimed that they were a victim of school violence perpetrated by “a female idol who was born in 2000 and has straight shoulders” in middle school. A claims the idol borrowed money from another classmate (referred to as B) and didn’t return that money. A claims the idol also made another classmate (referred to as C) an outcast. And made A break up with her boyfriend. When she asked why she hadn’t returned B’s money and made C an outcast, the idol and her friends cursed at her.
A claimed that in April of 2018, she heard this idol would be debuting under a big agency soon and when she wrote a post about the accusations on an online community at the time, she was sued for defamation.
On February 25, JYP Entertainment released an official statement denying the accusations,
“In regard to the case it is an ongoing investigation, we sued the writer of the post for defamation by spreading false information last year, we’d like to inform you that we are waiting for the result according to formal legal procedures.
This issue is also completely false, and we plan to take strong legal action against malicious comments, false information, and other acts that undermine the reputation of artists and hinder their activities.”
This idol joins the growing list of celebrities accused of being bullies amid a new movement, the list includes (G)I-DLE’s Soojin, LOONA’s Chuu, MONSTA X’s Kihyun, Sunwoo of THE BOYZ, Stray Kids Member Hyunjin, Actress Park Hye Soo, SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu and Kim Dong Hee to name a few.
