Despite previously confirming to various media outlets that G-dragon had left their label when the false drug allegations came out, YG has issued a new statement to confirm this once again.

This comes after new media reports that suggested contrasting things. Since G-dragon’s drug allegations have now been dismissed, Galaxy Corporation, one of the agencies he was reportedly in talks to join, announced that they would hold a press conference, indicating that G-Dragon’s collaboration with Galaxy Corporation is certain. however, they said he would not be present for the said conference.

Then, some media outlets alleged that G-dragon is not joining that agency but is thinking of re-signing with YG, again causing confusion among fans.

Thus, YG Entertainment released a statement regarding G-Dragon’s contract making the breakup official through BIGBANG’s official website.

YG stated, “G-Dragon was one of the artists who symbolized our company, and it has been an honor to be with him since Big Bang’s debut in 2006. We sincerely wish G-Dragon the best in his new beginning and ask for the support and encouragement of the fans.”

G-Dragon’s contract with YG Entertainment expired in June. At the time, YG stated, “Currently, G-Dragon’s exclusive contract has expired, but we are cooperating through separate contracts for advertisements and other activities. We plan to discuss additional contracts when he resumes his music activities, and YG will spare no support for this.”
