G-Dragon has completely cleared his name of drug allegations.

On the 19th of December, the Incheon Provincial Police Agency’s narcotics crime investigation unit announced that they have decided not to indict G-Dragon, who was initially booked without detention on suspicion of violating drug control laws.

The police began investigating G-Dragon in October when media outlets began to report that a famous artist was accused of using drugs. G-dragon denied using drugs via a legal rep but was subsequently banned from traveling outside of Korea.

Subsequently, G-Dragon received negative results in the preliminary test, hair analysis, and the detailed examination of his fingernails and toenails.

Furthermore, the nightclub manager, Ms. A, who previously claimed to have found suspicious packaging in the restroom used by G-Dragon, changed her statement, saying that she has never seen G-Dragon using drugs. This made the investigation difficult.

The police called in six individuals, including celebrities and acquaintances who visited the establishment along with G-Dragon, for testimonies. However, they were unable to find any evidence against G-Dragon. As a result, the investigation concluded without charges, and criticism arose that the police overly relied on Mr. A’s statement and conducted a flawed investigation. Nevertheless, the police stated that they had no reason not to investigate further as concrete statements had emerged.
