SHINee’s member Taemin has expressed his feelings about leaving his agency SM Entertainment.
On the 6th of March, Taemin shared through a fan communication platform, “I wanted to inform carefully without causing unnecessary worries, but it turned out this way. Honestly, it is still delicate to bring up such talk at this timing, but it felt impolite to silently stay still without saying anything to those who cherish and love me.”
He continued, “I have had various concerns since last year. I have decided to leave the company. I have also talked well with the members,” and expressed his gratitude to many people who have helped him so far.
While announcing that he will continue his team activities through SM, Taemin said, “You will still see me around. Thank you for believing in my choice and supporting me.”
Lastly, he added, “I have been Taemin anytime, anywhere, and I will continue to be so in the future. We have not just seen each other for a day or two. I believe that more good things will happen and I will make it happen. As SHINee and as Taemin, I ask for your continued support.”
SM Entertainment announced on the 5th that their exclusive contract with Taemin ends this March. SHINee’s activities will continue with SM. Individual activities will be decided by each member in the direction they desire. This comes after a shocking report alleged Taemin is leaving the agency after 16 years.
