SEVENTEEN Mingyu Personally Apologizes For The Itaewon Outing Controversy At His Group Press Conference
SEVENTEEN Mingyu has opened up about the Itaewon Outing Controversy.
On June 22, SEVENTEEN held their comeback showcase for their upcoming 7th mini album “Heng:garae.” This marks SEVENTEEN’s first comeback after Big Hit became the major shareholder of their agency Pledis.
During the showcase, Mingyu opened up about the Itaewon outing controversy which happened in late April. Mingyu, BTS’ Jungkook, ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo, and NCT’s Jaehyun all met up at Itaewon and hung out causing controversy for ignoring social distancing measures during the pandemic.
Mingyu said this about the controversy,
“I would like to directly apologize for disappointing many people because of my recent misbehavior.
I sincerely apologize to the fans who love and support me, to the hardworking members, and to those who are doing their best to overcome the crisis. I will not let you down and will show a side of me that won’t disappoint you.”
Previously, ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo, and NCT’s Jaehyun both issued separate handwritten apology letters regarding the controversy, Jungkook also recently apologized on broadcast.
