The script reading session for the tvN’s upcoming weekend drama series “The Uncanny Counter 2” has been released!
Scheduled to air in the second half of 2023, “The Uncanny Counter 2” is a thrilling and sweat-inducing supernatural action drama where the demon hunters called “Counters” with enhanced abilities and new members fight against increasingly powerful demons on Earth.
Based on the popular webtoon with a cumulative view count of 160 million, the “The Uncanny Counter 2” series has achieved the highest viewership ratings in OCN’s drama history, solidifying its position as a hit IP. Furthermore, the main characters from the first season, including Jo Byeong Gyu, Yoo Joon Sang, Kim Se Jeong, Yeom Hye Ran. and Ahn Suk Hwan have all returned for the second season.
In addition, new actors such as Jin Sun Kyu, Kang Ki-young, Kim Hye Ra, and Yoo In Soo have joined, further enhancing the casting lineup and promising intense confrontations with upgraded storylines and exhilarating heroism.
The script reading for “The Uncanny Counter 2” was attended by the director Yoo Seon-dong, who previously helmed season 1, screenwriter Kim Sae Bom, as well as the main cast mentioned above.
Director Yoo Seon Dong said, “It feels new. I am grateful to the Counters and the existing staff for joining us, and I warmly welcome the new actors and staff who have joined us.”
As the script reading began in earnest, the set was filled with the distinctive tension and catharsis that the “The Uncanny Counter” series is known for.
The production team of tvN’s “The Uncanny Counter 2” stated, “With the addition of Counters with new abilities, the confrontation between the stronger Counters and the more powerful demons will unfold.”
They further mentioned that the second season will provide even more exhilarating enjoyment, expanding the world and scale beyond season 1, with the unique humor, visually stunning effects, and action sequences adding to the excitement.
The drama will air some time in the 2nd half of 2023.
