tvN has announced that the premiere for their highly-awaited drama “Eve” has been postponed!

Eve” is a melodrama that centers around the story of a chaebol’s 2-trillion-won (approximately $1.7 billion) divorce lawsuit that shocks the entire nation. The drama is led by Seo Ye Ji, Park Byung Eun, Lee Sang Yeop, and Yoo Sun.

This also marks Seo Ye Ji’s first work since the hit drama “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay.” Earlier this year, the actress was involved in controversy over allegedly manipulating Kim Jung Hyun‘s problematic behavior in 2018, due to the severe backlash against her, she withdrew from the drama “Island.” In February, the actress issued an apology regarding the controversy.

On May 20, the producers of “Eve” announced that the premiere date for the upcoming drama has been postponed to the next week. So instead of premiering on May 25 it will premiere on June 1.

The producers explained the reason and said, “Although (“Eve”) is a pre-produced drama, the filming was delayed a lot due to various circumstances such as the COVID-19 situation.” They added, “The filming is still going on and the first broadcast date has been postponed by one week due to the tight post-production schedule.”

In addition, the producers also announced that the press conference for “Eve” will be canceled, and they explained the reason for that decision had to do with their tight filming schedule and not because of Seo Ye Ji’s past controversy, as some have speculated.

“Eve” is now set to premiere on June 1.
