Actress Park Min Young has apologized for the controversy surrounding her ex-boyfriend.
On the 1st of January, the production presentation for the new TVN drama “Marry My Husband” was held. Director Park Won-guk, actors Park Min Young, Na In Woo, Lee Yi Kyung, Song Ha Yoon, and Lee Ki Kwang attended the event and shared various stories about the drama.
During the conference, Park Min Young addressed her massive controversy with her ex-boyfriend who was investigated for various allegations. Park Min Young revealed, “It was a year when both my body and mind were in pain. I was wondering if I could do this project, when the director called me” and “Even though it was a short time, I regretted it all the time. When I had a brainwave test at the mental health clinic, the guilt was so strong that it was like a red danger signal.”
She then added, “During that time, I learned what my true profession is, when the happy moments are, and that I shine and look beautiful only when I am fully focused on acting on set.”
Park Min Young stated, “I have accepted everything now and I wanted to apologize for causing concerns. I wish I had done it earlier, but now that I am in a healthier state, I want to sincerely apologize to those who have loved and cherished me the most. I think the answer is to show a truly good image as an actor and not let any unfortunate incidents happen again. I have always said that I will become a proud actor while pursuing my acting career, but I have a lot of regrets. I am trying to go back and become that person again, so please watch over me.”
Park Min Young was caught up in rumors of dating businessman Kang Jong-hyun, who was identified as the actual owner of the cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb in September of last year. After Kang was involved in various suspicions, Park Min Young also underwent a prosecution investigation as a witness. The controversy intensified when it was revealed that Park Min Young’s older sister had served as an outside director at a subsidiary of Bithumb, where Kang’s sister was the CEO. At the time, Park Min Young’s agency stated, “She has broken up with the person involved in the dating rumors. She did not receive any financial support.”
