Netflix’s “Squid Game” production team has denied the recent allegations against the show.
“Squid Game” has been under controversy after a netizen posted to an online community claiming that the bank account used in the final episode of “Squid Game” was real. As the netizen attempted to wire less than $1 to the account, it proceeded to the next step raising suspicion that an actual bank account number was used in the drama.
Netflix has stepped up to share a statement denying the news. They stated, “the bank account was used for the production process.”
This comes after the controversy surrounding “Squid Game” leaking a real phone number in the drama, the leak caused a huge inconvenience to the owner Mr. Kim, the production team had reportedly offered him around $800 and told him to stop using the phone number as there is nothing they could do.

Since its premiere on September 17, “Squid Game” has exploded in popularity overseas, on September 21, the drama ranked the No. 1 show in the ‘U.S Netflix’s top 10 in the U.S list today’ pushing “Sex Education” to the number two spot despite the drama being massively successful in the U.S and overseas. It’s the first-ever Korean drama to achieve this record.
