After a 3-year hiatus since the drama “Hi Bye, Mama!” actress Kim Tae Hee and actress Lim Ji Yeon, who starred in the Netflix hit “The Glory,” have returned to the small screen with their highly anticipated new drama “The House with a Yard.”
On the 12th of May, the production team of the Genie TV original drama “The House with a Yard” (written by Ji An and directed by Jung Ji-hyun) revealed the first script reading with the attendance of the actors.
“The House with a Yard” is a suspense thriller based on the best-selling novel of the same name, about two women who live completely different lives, who meet after a strange smell emanates from the backyard.
In particular, “The House with a Yard” has garnered attention as a new work by director Jung Ji-hyun, who has received critical acclaim for his dramas “Search: WWW” and “Twenty-Five Twenty-One.”
The drama boasts a solid cast lineup consisting of Kim Tae Hee, Lim Ji Yeon, Kim Sung Oh, and Choi Jae Rim, promising to deliver a high-quality suspense thriller.
At the script reading, the talented main cast along with the director were present.
According to the production team, Kim Tae Hee impressed everyone with her portrayal of Joo-ran, a woman who lives a perfect life in a picturesque home but becomes confused and unstable after encountering the smell of a corpse in her backyard. Meanwhile, Lim Ji Yeon, who plays the role of Sang-eun, a victim of domestic violence dreaming of escaping her miserable reality, delivered a powerful and intense performance that captured the audience’s attention.
Kim Sung Oh, who plays the role of Joo-ran’s husband, a perfectionist doctor, skillfully portrayed both the gentle and mysterious aspects of his character, adding to the enigmatic atmosphere. Choi Jae Rim, who plays the role of Yoon-beom, Sang-eun’s violent and cunning husband, completely immersed himself in his character and created a tense and unsettling atmosphere on set.
“The House with a Yard” will premiere on Genie TV, GenieTV Mobile, and ENA on June 19th.
