At the recent press conference for the highly anticipated Netflix series “D.P. 2,” its star actors discussed the 2nd season!

Actors Jung Hae In and Son Suk Ku return with Netflix’s ‘D.P.’ Season 2, a drama based on the Deserters Pursuit Team (D.P.) theme, which garnered tremendous popularity in August 2021. This time, Jung Hae In And Koo Kyo Hwan once again chase after deserters, portraying Corporal Ahn Jun Ho and Lieutenant Im Ji Seop of the 103rd Infantry Division’s Pursuit Team.

In Season 2, which will be released on the 28th, they struggle to bring about changes while constantly confronting the military’s corruption, just like in the previous season. Throughout this process, they experience transformations in their identities and emotions. At the recent production announcement held, both actors discussed the drama. Jung Hae In and Son Suk Ku confidently stated, “There were still many stories left untold. It is perhaps natural that we returned for Season 2.”

Jung Hae In expressed joy, saying, “After finishing Season 1’s filming, I remember saying goodbye to my colleagues at a celebration and telling them, ‘Let’s meet again in Season 2.’ At that time, the drama had not even been released yet, but strangely, I felt like there would be a Season 2. I’m really happy that my wish to go into Season 2 with the same actors and staff members came true. Season 1 was a great success, so the burden was significant, but I repeatedly told my colleagues, ‘Let’s not get too excited and just do as we usually do.'”

Jung Hae In revealed that the most challenging moments were those where he felt more mentally exhausted than physically. Having immersed himself in portraying characters who had to desert the military due to the military’s corruption, hazing, and questioning their sexual identity, he said, “My character constantly questions what he can do. There were times when I reached my physical limits, but playing a character who repeatedly collides with psychological barriers was emotionally demanding. While watching the amplified tragedies, viewers will come up with different answers themselves.”

Son Suk Ku, whose character had become accustomed to the military’s corruption and sometimes compromised to be promoted, undergoes the most dramatic change this time around. He said, “I started Season 2 with a very different mindset from Season 1. I wanted to accurately portray Lieutenant Im Ji Seop, who was farthest from a sense of responsibility, as he gradually grows into a responsible soldier. I wanted to show that even such a person can change and give hope that everyone can change. That’s why, on the first day of Season 2’s filming, I remember feeling full of excitement, yet strangely, my mind was at peace.”

“D.P. 2” drops on Netflix on the 28th of July.
