[BREAKING] Soojin Is Departing (G)I-DLE Following Bullying Controversy
Soojin has decided to withdraw from (G)I-DLE!
On August 14, Cube Entertainment announced in an official statement that the idol has decided to leave the team as of today. They stated,
“First of all, we’d like to apologize for the concern caused by the controversy involving artist Seo Soojin from our company.
We would like to inform you that it’s been decided that Soojin will be departing the team as of today.
In the future, (G)I-DLE will continue their activities in a five-member system, and we will continue to support and do our best to help (G)I-DLE show more mature music and performances.
Thank you.”
This announcement comes after it was alleged that earlier this year, Soojin has been involved in bullying controversy and among the alleged victims was the child actress Seo Shin Ae who attended the same school as her.
Soojin personally denied the news and so did Cube on many occasions, they also promised strict legal action against the netizens who spread the rumors.
Actress Seo Shin Ae issued a statement sharing her side of the story, following that, the agency went radio silent and didn’t address the statement despite requesting her to speak out on the issue.
Soojin has halted her activities in her group since then.
