NewJeans’ Minji Issues Apology Letter…. For Not Knowing A Korean Dish

Hello, this is Minji. I am always thankful for the interest and love that many people have shown me since my debut.
During the live broadcast on January 2nd with the Bunnies [fans], I made some people uncomfortable with my tone and attitude. I sincerely apologize to the Bunnies who were surprised and hurt by the inappropriate attitude I showed during the live broadcast, where I should have communicated naturally and comfortably.
I am aware of the reactions to my statement last winter when I mentioned not knowing what Kalguksu is. I know there were various responses. Due to my picky eating habits and never having tried Kalguksu, I unintentionally muttered to myself, ‘What is Kalguksu?’ I did not anticipate that my muttering might be misunderstood, and I wanted to provide a clear explanation. However, I thought that time might make things quiet down, and I didn’t want to pour oil on the fire.
As time passed, more words and mentions of my judgment and even relationships with the members followed, causing strange misunderstandings that continued to trouble me unknowingly over the past year.
Feeling frustrated, I offered an explanation, but I am deeply reflecting on disappointing everyone with my immature attitude. Through this incident, I have thought a lot during my vacation and through conversations with people around me, and I have learned a lot about the responsibility of my words. I will be more careful and attentive to avoid making the same mistake again. I want to express my apologies once again to the Bunnies who felt uncomfortable and bewildered while watching the live broadcast
