The solo career of Chuu, a former member of the group LOONA, has begun.

On the afternoon of the 18th of October, at 2 p.m., the showcase for Chuu’s first mini album ‘Howl’ was held to celebrate its release.

Chuu stated, “I have released my first solo album in six years. I have put in a lot of effort and research. I am truly grateful.”

Chuu debuted as a member of LOONA in 2017 and actively participated in the group’s activities as a prominent member. However, her former agency, Blockberry Creative, permanently expelled Chuu in November 2022, accusing her of verbally abusing and bullying staff members. Chuu denied any shameful behavior towards her fans. She also won the lawsuit against Blockberry regarding the termination of her exclusive contract and the existence of its effectiveness. With this, Chuu became completely free from Blockberry and signed an exclusive contract with ATRP, a subsidiary of BY9 Entertainment, and began her solo career.

During the debut showcase, Chuu began to tear up addressing the situation with Blockberry and the lawsuit.

Chuu said, “I felt disappointed and upset due to the unwanted issues. Above all, I am sorry to the fans who had a hard time. I have already told the fans that I have never done anything to be ashamed of. I prepared this album with confidence in myself. Everyone faces difficult moments where they want to avoid pain. I also experienced such moments, but they gave me the courage to overcome them,” shedding tears.

Chuu also mentioned her album and the preparations leading up to its release, “I felt excited about my solo debut and let many people around me listen to the songs. Even my old friend of 10 years said, ‘Is this really your voice?’ I feel like I can show a new side of Chuu. I shared the songs with the LOONA members, and they cheered me on, saying, ‘This song is great, and it suits you well.’ I received a lot of encouragement, which became my motivation. They listened to the album in advance, boosting my confidence and relieving my nervousness. I am very grateful,” she said.
