Actress Lee Young Ae has yet again lent a helping hand to the needy by donating a generous amount of money to Guryong Village, where a large-scale fire broke out.
According to the Korea Foundation for the Disabled on January 22, Lee Young Ae donated 50 million won($40,000) for residents affected by the fire in Guryong Village, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Lee Young Ae said through the foundation, “I was heartbroken to hear the news of the residents of Guryong Village who lost their residence and had difficulty making a living due to a sudden fire. I want to be of some help to the victims who are suffering.”
The Korea Foundation for the Disabled added, “Lee Young Ae, who is also the mother of two children, offered to help if there are any children affected, and was really heartbroken by the loss ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. The donations will be used to help victims of the fire-damaged Guryong Village return to their daily lives.”
On January 20, a fire broke out in District 4 of Guryong Village in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and about 500 residents were evacuated. Fire authorities believe that about 60 households have been destroyed and about 60 people have been displaced. The exact cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
