Choi Siwon, Jung In Sun, Lee Tae Hwan, Jung Yoo Jin have been confirmed to star in TV CHOSUN’s new weekend mini-series “DNA Lover.” This drama marks the expansion of TV CHOSUN Universe.
Scheduled to air in the first half of 2024, “DNA Lover” tells the story of genetic researcher Han So Jin who has failed in many relationships, finally finding her match through genetics in a sensory-activated romantic comedy.
“DNA Lover,” with director Sung Chi Wook who directed “Tomorrow” and “Kairos” and writer Jung Soo Mi who penned “Born Again,” promises a unique storytelling style, sophisticated direction, and tight narrative structure, offering viewers a thrilling, heartwarming, and exciting romance that will captivate audiences of all ages.
Choi Siwon, Jung In Sun, Lee Tae Hwan, and Jung Yoo Jin will showcase their talents as the main actors of this new “5th generation romantic comedy.”
Choi Siwon plays the role of Shim Yeon Woo, a highly skilled and sensitive obstetrician-gynecologist. Shim Yeon Woo excels in social intelligence more than IQ or EQ, successfully capturing women’s hearts, but when women try to control, possess, or correct him, he coldly declares a breakup without hesitation.
Jung In Sun transforms into Han So Jin, a genetic researcher at the “Fortunate Genetics Center,” obsessed with finding the perfect genetic match. Lee Tae Hwan, in his first drama after completing military service, takes on the role of Seo Kang Hoon, a heart-fluttering figure known as the “Excitement Instigator.” Seo Kang Hoon, a handsome firefighter, becomes Han So Jin’s (Jung In Sun) go-to person, always answering her calls as the top priority. With an unwavering commitment to his decisions, Seo Kang Hoon’s intense charm may lead to the onset of a severe “second lead syndrome.”
Jung Yoo Jin appears as Rose, a soulmate who understands the cool life of her ex-lover Shim Yeon Woo (Choi Siwon) and advocates for the idea that “a woman who expects everything from one man is bound to get hurt.”
The production team expressed their excitement for the upcoming broadcast of “DNA Lover” in the first half of 2024. They encouraged viewers to look forward to the fiery performances of the four actors in this all-encompassing drama that combines romantic comedy, family healing, and mystery.
