BTS member j-hope enlisted on the 18th of april.

j-hope entered the army’s 36th division training center in wonju, gangwon province, on the afternoon of the 18th without any public events or greetings, riding in a van.

j-hope passed through the entrance of the training center without stopping. all bts members, including jin, who is currently serving in the military, were present to see him off and showed strong teamwork.

the army (bts fan club) also kept their promise as the agency sent out a note asking fans not to crowd the place, they wrote, “since the enlistment ceremony is a place where many soldiers and their families gather, we ask fans to refrain from visiting the site to prevent any accidents due to congestion.

according to various media outlets, only a small number of fans were present at the scene. instead, the “hobi bus,” a bus wrapped in a cheering advertisement for j-hope’s enlistment made an appearance. wonju city was on high alert for any potential issues that could have occurred from overcrowding.

j-hope told fans previously, “just a week ago, I was wondering what to do, but now I feel really calm. I think this is a time that comes to everyone. I planned to take a little over two weeks to rest and organize my things, but I didn’t feel like doing anything and felt mentally exhausted. now i’m sleeping well and eating well. don’t feel too bad and as a healthy young man in korea, I will fulfill my duty and come back healthy. i’m excited to have new experiences and learn in a new society. living a normal daily life might help me become healthier too.”

he also mentioned that jin calls him once a day these days. jin told him that he actually has more things to do than he thought, but still has some free time. the team also gave him a lot of advice. jin advised him to take books with him because when he first entered training, he had nothing to do and spent 11 hours just staring at the sky.

all of the members of bts showed up to say goodbye to the idol including jin, they took to social media to share photos with j-hope ahead of his enlistment. check them out!

j-hope also shared a handwritten note saying “i will come back healthy!” along with a photo of him with short hair on the same day. his expected discharge date is october 17, 2024.
