Based on the webtoon of the same name, SBS’s Thursday drama “The Killing Vote” depicts the story of conducting a national death penalty vote targeting heinous criminals and tracing the process of executing the death penalty. The drama stars actors Park Hae Jin, Lim Ji Yeon, and Park Sung Woong.

Park Hae Jin plays the role of Kim Moo-chan, the team leader of the Special Investigation Team 1 at the Southern Police Agency. Kim Moo-chan is an expert in taking credit for cases as soon as they happen and has achieved the position of the youngest and shortest-serving team leader in the Southern Police Agency.

Park Sung Woong portrays Kwon Seok-joo, who personally murders the perpetrator who sexually assaulted his 8-year-old daughter and then surrenders himself, serving a long-term sentence in prison. Kwon Seok-joo, once one of the most renowned legal professionals in South Korea, holds a special position similar to a guru within the prison, with inmates respectfully addressing him as “Professor.”

Lim Ji Yeon takes on the role of Ju Hyun, a fifth-year police officer in the Cyber Security Division of the Seoul Police Agency. Having entered the Seoul Police Agency as a cyber specialist, Ju Hyun was once the ace of the Cyber Investigation Team. However, she has now become a scapegoat.

“The Killing Vote” will premiere on August 10.
