Song Joong Ki expressed his desire to show the movie “Hopeless” to his young son in the future.

On the afternoon of the 22nd of September, the press screening of the movie “Hopeless” was held at Megabox COEX in Seoul. Lead actors Hong Sa Bin, Song Joong Ki, Kim Hyung Seo (Bibi), and director Kim Chang Hoon attended the event.

With the fresh ensemble of actors who deliver intense performances, unpredictable and engaging storyline, and deep emotions that leave a lasting impression, “Hopeless” has garnered much anticipation. It is a dark and intense noir drama that portrays the lives of individuals living in a hopeless world in different ways through a solid plot and dense directing.

Song Joong Ki played the role of Joon Gi, the mid-level boss of an organization. Joon Gi, who has learned his own survival method in a cruel reality, is a character who recognizes the scars he shares with Yeon Gyu and extends a helping hand. He showed great affection for the film, volunteering to appear without any guarantee.

Song Joong Ki said, “I no longer have a desired image or reaction from the audience or the public. I let go of those things a long time ago. I am satisfied that I was able to do a film of the color that I really wanted, a film that conveys such emotions. I wanted to continue doing dark and melancholic films. In fact, I had the opportunity to do such films before, but I couldn’t do them due to circumstances. I regretted it a lot. I wanted to do a dark film, and at that moment, I came across this script. When I read the script, I was convinced that it matched my emotions.”

He added, “This script was attractive to me. It was about a neglected boy who experiences domestic violence, and it seems appropriate to describe him as a boy who hasn’t fully matured in terms of mindset and emotions. I wanted to express the dark story of this neglected boy who experiences domestic violence well.”

Song Joong Ki then brought up his son and said, “I now have a baby whom I love so much, but I’m not worried about doing such a dark film. I hope that when he grows up, he will see that ‘Dad did this film’.”

Song Joong Ki, who divorced four years ago, was rumored to be dating British actress Katie in December last year. In January this year, he confirmed his relationship with Katie through his fan cafe and announced his marriage and pregnancy simultaneously. In June, he revealed the news of his first child’s birth and shared his touching thoughts on becoming a father.

In particular, Song Joong Ki said, “I don’t feel any pressure about marriage and childbirth. Many people congratulated me, and I sincerely thank them for their congratulations. I hope the baby grows up healthy as much as you congratulated us. It’s our first child, and I’m a novice dad, and my wife is a novice mom. I didn’t know the baby would grow up so fast. He really grew up quickly. I think I should be a good person while staying by the baby’s side.”

He added, “I am grateful that I can introduce a movie that I love at this timing. I don’t feel any pressure about that. Thank you for congratulating us.”

“Hopeless” will be released on October 11th.
