Singer BoA mentioned sudden retirement, causing fans to worry.
On the 6th of April, BoA posted on her personal Instagram, “Now that my contract is ending, I can retire, right??” Some netizens were worried that she had a typo and might have not meant the word retire but instead exercise but the singer then confirmed herself she was hinting at retirement indeed.
Later, BoA emphasized, “I made a typo,” clarifying that she indeed mentioned retirement. She expressed her sudden desire to retire after her contract with her agency SM Entertainment comes to an end, indicating that she does not want to continue in the entertainment industry.
BoA has recently expressed her frustration with malicious comments multiple times. After facing hate comments following her appearance on tvN’s ‘Marry My Husband,’ she posted on her personal channel, “I don’t know your faces, but don’t waste your time like that in life. Sorry, but I’m BoA.”
Appearing on Channel A’s ‘Open Interview’ at the end of last month, she also appealed, “Hate comments are bad. Malicious comments are just bad.” She shared her thoughts on how her life is being broadcasted like ‘The Truman Show,’ saying, “Celebrities are also humans. I feel that many people consider celebrities as targets for venting their anger.”
With BoA mentioning retirement, worries are pouring in. Comments like “How difficult must it have been,” “The hate comments recently were too severe,” and “How difficult must it be to show it like this” continue to flood in.
