Soju Brand Rep Gets Brutally Honest About Why Han So Hee’s Contract Was Not Renewed, How Her Dating Controversy And Responses Affected The Outcome
Amid backlash Han So Hee has been receiving for her public relationship with Ryu Jun Yeol, a rep from a soju brand she’s been advertising for was contacted to explain why her contract wasn’t renewed, and this is what they said!
In the Korean mainstream industry, once a model is selected for an advertisement, they usually stay together for a long time. However, Han So Hee did not renew her contract just one year after being selected as a model in March of last year.
Singer and actress Suzy worked for 4 years as an advertising model, singer Lee Hyori for 6 years, and actress Shin Min Ah for 2 years.
It was speculated that Han So Hee’s relationship with actor Ryu Jun Yeol may have had a negative impact on the extension of the advertising contract and now more details about the situation have been revealed.
In relation to this, on the 28th of March, an advertising official stated through MyDaily, “I can’t say that the relationship had nothing to do with it, but the process was the problem. When selecting a celebrity as a model, we consider personality, overall activities, and communication to be more important than just appearance.”
He continued, explaining, “In the case of Han So Hee, the process of publicly revealing her relationship was one-sided. She caused a conflict, displayed her own discomfort one-sidedly, and eventually couldn’t bear the anger, deleting her blog and SNS. In the long run, it showed that she could act like this when there are other issues as a model. Therefore, it is only natural to aim for short-term contracts.”
Recently, Han So Hee admitted to dating Ryu Jun Yeol. Amidst the rumors of a transfer relationship sparked by Hyeri’s comment “It’s fun,” Han So Hee caused a stir once again on the 29th of March by posting a long statement.
She stated, “After meeting various people, wasting time due to superficial appearances, and reaching the age of thirty where I can no longer be considered young, I met this person (Ryu Jun Yeol) while trying to find the direction of my life,” and “It is true that (Ryu Jun Yeol and Hyeri) broke up exactly last year. They exchanged their last greetings, wishing each other well and goodbye. I am not disclosing personal details of my relationships and I clarify that it is not a transfer relationship.”
She further countered, saying, “What I don’t understand is why it was so amusing for someone to have a new girlfriend after breaking up with their ex. Why do you make a message that was not meant for reconciliation seem like a message full of regrets, and then label the new relationship that happened 4 months later as a transfer relationship without saying anything. With just that one sentence, I received numerous speculations and malicious comments. I’m not looking for an apology, I’m just genuinely curious.” She publicly attacked Hyeri causing severe backlash.
