After the arrest warrant for Yoo Ah In was rejected by the court, the actor was hit by a plastic bottle as he exited the premise.
Yoo Ah In left the Mapo Police Station in Seoul after the arrest warrant was rejected at around 11:40 p.m. on the 24th. On this day, the judge rejected the warrant citing “It is difficult to conclusively determine that there is a risk of evidence destruction or escape beyond the scope of exercising the right to defense. It is also difficult to recognize the grounds and necessity for detention at this stage.”
Yoo Ah In, who was escorted to the detention center in chains, was immediately released after the arrest warrant was rejected. He said to reporters, “I respect and appreciate the judgment of the court. It is difficult to say about the cocaine use allegations through the media. I will faithfully fulfill the remaining procedures.”
After completing a short Q&A, he was moving to his car when a citizen threw a bottle filled with coffee. The bottle hit Yoo Ah In’s thigh and fell to the ground. As a result, Yoo Ah In’s suit pants were slightly stained, and Yoo Ah In looked at the direction from which the bottle flew with a distorted expression.
Yoo Ah In is under investigation by the police on charges of administering five types of drugs including: marijuana, propofol, cocaine, ketamine and more. As Yoo Ah In became a suspect in a drug case, there were setbacks in the release of three films and dramas starring him. He has since issued an apology to his SNS and attended the 2nd round of questioning which lasted 21 hours on May 16.
