ZEROBASEONE’s Kim Jiwoong has been embroiled in controversy after allegations that he used profanity during a video call with a fan spread online. However, their agency, WakeOne, has stated that the allegations are untrue.

On the 3rd of February, Wake One released a statement regarding the profanity controversy involving Kim Jiwoong, stating, “After confirming the facts, we have determined that the allegations are false. We have also confirmed this with our staff members and interpreters who were present at the scene.”

Kim Jiwoong conducted a video call event with fans on the 27th of last month. Afterwards, online platforms contained a recording of a male voice using profanity after Kim Jiwoong said his final goodbye with “Thank you.” Some netizens raised suspicions that Kim Jiwoong may have used profanity thinking that the screen was already turned off.

In response to this, Wake One emphasized, “We will take all available resources and utilize digital forensics on images, videos, audios, and other materials to clearly reveal the truth and protect the artist. Although it may take some time, we will actively respond to those who create and spread false content related to our artist.”
