According to a representative from the management agency, all members of the group NewJeans have submitted a petition to the court on the 17th. The petition is said to argue against the dismissal of CEO Min Hee-jin.

Earlier, the conflict between CEO Min Hee-jin and the parent company HYBE came to light. On the 17th, the Seoul Central District Court held a hearing for the lawsuit filed by CEO Min Hee-jin against HYBE for an injunction on the exercise of voting rights. On the 31st, a temporary shareholders’ meeting is scheduled to take place, with the dismissal of CEO Min Hee-jin as the agenda item.

The CEO’s side refuted the allegations of a power grab in court. They also claimed that HYBE had discriminated against and neglected NewJeans. HYBE stated, “The essence of the case is that CEO Min Hee-jin, who abandoned the duties of a representative director due to personal interests, has requested an extraordinary injunction to block the rights of the legitimate creditor (HYBE).”

NewJeans members Minji, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, and Hyein are continuing their activities amidst the conflict between CEO Min Hee-jin and HYBE.

After this, rumors alleged the members had hired a lawyer to also look into their contracts and were entering a contract dispute with HYBE. However, this has since been denied with the lawyer denying that. Lawyer Kang Jin-seok told E-Daily, “I assisted the parents of NewJeans members in submitting their petition.”
