Amidst rumors that BLACKPINK member Lisa‘s contract renegotiation has fallen through, YG Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as ‘YG’) has made a statement.

BLACKPINK celebrated their 7th debut anniversary this year since their debut in August 2016. Although it has been seven years since their debut, there has been no official news regarding the contract renegotiation of members Jisoo, Rosé, Jennie, and Lisa creating a lot of buzz online.

Recently, rumors about Lisa’s contract renewal have gained particular attention for various reasons following many reports alleging she’s receiving massive offers from other international labels. Rumors of Lisa’s contract falling through have not subsided as a result.

On the 14th of September, we reported that one news outlet alleged that Lisa rejected a 2nd offer from YG to renew valued at nearly $40 million.

On the 15th, YG Entertainment responded to the said report and circulating rumors and emphasized once again, “The contract renegotiation with Lisa is under discussion. The rumors have not been officially confirmed.”

Meanwhile, the contract renewal status of the other members, excluding Lisa, remains unknown.

Furthermore, Blackpink held the largest-scale world tour for a K-pop girl group, ‘BLACKPINK World Tour (In Your Area),’ which drew approximately 1.5 million people. The finale concert will be held at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome on the 16th and 17th.
