YG Entertainment has expressed its position regarding the expiration of the exclusive contract with BIGBANG’s G-Dragon following reports that alleged the contract expired.
A representative from YG Entertainment told news outlets, “Currently, G-Dragon’s exclusive contract has expired. However, we are cooperating through separate contracts for advertisements and other activities.”
The representative further stated, “We plan to negotiate additional contracts when resuming music activities. YG Entertainment will spare no support for that.”
Previously, fans noticed the quarterly report released by YG Entertainment didn’t contain G-Dragon’s name in the list of contracted singers and actors as of March 31. This led to speculation in some circles that G-Dragon had left YG Entertainment without renewing his contract.
Back in January of this year, G-Dragon announced through his official YouTube channel, “I will be returning through various activities. I am also preparing an album,” hinting at active promotions in the future.
