Two Of The Biggest Korean Stars Will Be Released From The Military In July
July is going to be an interesting month for many Kpop and kdrama fans because it will mark the return of two huge Korean celebrities, BIGBANG T.O.P and actor Kim Soo Hyun.
Actor Kim Soo Hyun enlisted as an active duty soldier on October 23, 2017, and its been recently confirmed that he’s set to be discharged on July 1st, 2019.
His agency told news outlets that no private discharge event will be held for the actor as he wishes not to inconvenience others who are also set to be discharged. However, he does plan on greeting those who will come to see him on July 1st.
As for updates around the actor, his last project ahead of his military enlistment was a noir film called “Real,” the actor still hasn’t decided on his first project following his military discharge, but you can surely expect happy news from him soon.
On the other hand, we have BIGBANG T.O.P, who is the first of his group to be discharged. He was supposed to be discharged earlier however; he was embroiled in controversy over his marijuana use back in January of 2018.
He originally enlisted back in February of 2017, soldiers usually serves a little under two years in the military, however, due to the marijuana case he lost his position and was transferred to serve as a public service worker.
BIGBANG T.O.P will be discharged on July 8.
