The identity of the trot singer found dead in her home on May 12 has been confirmed.

On the 12th of May, Sports Kyunghyang reported that “A, who had been active as a trot genre singer, was found dead in her home. When iMBC Entertainment attempted to contact the person and their associates, including their manager, they were unable to reach them. Comments expressing condolences are flooding the social media of the person who has been rumored to have passed away.

For a couple of days, the identity of the deceased was not known, but today, through an SNS post, it was confirmed to be trot singer Hae Soo.

On the 15th, a commemorative post was uploaded to singer Hae Soo’s official Instagram account, stating, “I am sorry to deliver this heartbreaking and sad news. On the 12th, Hae Soo left us and became a shining light in the vast sea. She was a warm-hearted person who was expected to give love, share affection, and knew how to receive in return. The sudden news has brought great sorrow to her family, friends, and colleagues, who are all mourning her deeply.”

Additionally, it was mentioned, “The funeral was held quietly and privately according to the wishes of the family, allowing the grieving family members to mourn and bid farewell to the deceased. We earnestly request refraining from speculative and malicious reports or spreading rumors, so that the remaining path of the deceased can be mourned.”

According to the police, on the morning of the 12th, Seoul’s Yongsan Police Station jurisdiction received a report from someone who discovered Hae Soo dead in her residence. A note believed to be written by her was found at the scene, allegedly indicating that she made a drastic choice. The police reported that they have handed it over the deceased to the family.

Hae Soo, born in 1993, majored in traditional Korean music. She debuted as a trot singer in 2019 and was active with trot songs based on pansori.

She debuted with her first EP album, “My Life, Myself,” in November 2019. She released her second single album in 2021, and appeared on various music broadcasts, variety shows, and radio programs. Earlier this year, she appeared on the terrestrial music competition program KBS2’s ‘Immortal Songs’ Lunar New Year special and gained attention, continuing her active career. However, she suddenly passed away.
