SM Entertainment has released a statement in response to NCT Taeyong past bullying rumors!

NCT Taeyong has had his fair share of trouble in the past; the bullying rumors have surfaced again causing a lot of controversy.

On September 18, media outlet Wikitree reported that someone (referred to as ‘B’) is claiming to be a classmate of Taeyong from his second year of middle school; B claims that he witnessed him taking part in bullying of classmate (referred to A) that was carried out by a group of people.

Warning: mention of self-harm

‘B’ claims that Taeyong had not been the leader of the group but aided in the bullying of A. They went on to say, ‘one day, ‘A’ couldn’t take it anymore and threw a chair,’ adding, ‘during the next class, they harmed themselves by cutting their hands with a box cutter.”

Media outlet Wikitree additionally shared a conversation between B and another participant in the bullying of ‘A,’ who confirmed they remembered the incident.

The original community post also alleged that Taeyong made awful tasteless comments about people based on their looks; the post has since been removed by the person who posted it. Despite the removal the situation continued to get worse.

The controversy escalated when a former SM trainee even posted about it to his instastory, he says that he’s known him since he was a fellow trainee,

“Everything about this accusation is true. He has a shitty personality so stop defending him.”

The report by Wikitree went viral and was shared by various news outlets in Korea and overseas. Taeyong received an overwhelming amount critical comments, since then, SM issued a statement to clarify his side of the story.

In their statement they also refer to a previous incident when he apologized for conducting scams on online trading sites, Taeyong had apologized for that in the past as well.

SM states that they requested a confirmation from his family, such as his middle school student records in order to make sense of the situation. They state the records have no official mention of what’s being alleged and that there is also no record of disciplinary action, his parents also didn’t meet with his teacher regarding what’s being alleged.

SM didn’t flat out deny anything but argued that there are no official records on file.

SM added,

“Taeyong deeply regrets the way he behaved and said hurtful things while in middle school before he began to dream of being a singer, he has said that both while he was a trainee and after his debut that he apologized to everyone who was hurt.”

They end their statement emphasizing that Taeyong is still deeply reflecting on his past actions when he was younger and that he’ll lead his life in an upright manner.

What do you think of this?

  1. From Nigeria, why is it that Korean people like going back to people’s past when they start doing good, bully is wrong quite alright but he has apologize. Please leave the poor guy alone in peace.

  2. If he’s apologized what do you people want anymore? Attention? There’s literally no reason for going back and digging up old “records” Of things he “allegedly” Had done in middle school. He’s grown as a person and he’s already and idol. (Hes suffering enough as it is) You sound obsessed.

  3. Even so if he was a naughty kid way back in high school, he’s obviously doing good now as an idol. His members like him. SM even searched for some records from his school but found none. These so called witnesses to his past are just teying to sabotage his career now. What would they gain from this? Nothing. They just surfaced now because Taeyong will debut again on another group. People will do everything to drag down someone. Jealousy and insecurities can do far reaches.

  4. we all did stupid shit in middle school. teenagers are assholes. taeyong was probably an asshole as well at that age. however, people can change and i doubt he’d ever think of doing that again. if he did i doubt there would be a good relationship between him and his members. although, i can understand that i have no clue what goes on behind closed doors. y’all need to stop jumping on everything and “cancelling” someone before you get all the details because you won’t be able to be taken seriously. it’s also a messy for the idol if it’s wrong and could seriously damage their mental health.

  5. I feel bad for the victims but Lee Taeyong Is still Getting hate! He dosent deserve it because he deeply regrets it and he is getting attacked! For the love of god, protect our sweet boi

  6. literally Taeyong has grown up. we’ve seen how kind he js to staff, members, friends, pets, literally everything that exists. Sure everyone has a dark past, he’s not perfect. But at least he has grown out of the phase of bringing people down. Whoever is bringing these things back up needs to take notes. Theyre being very immature, especially for an ex sm trainee. Not to be rude, but i’m glad they didn’t debut. NCT members are too kind for people like that.

  7. So many people are bullies and when they grow up they are different people literally I have noticed that in my life with people I know, they become more mature and all that is just something from childhood, give people and CHANCE and let them MOVE ON and who even cares because of this stupid rumour!!!

    1. Honestly, this just goes to show that idols aren’t as perfect and well behaved as they may seem. Who knows what they were like in the past? Who knows what they’re like when the camera isn’t on them? I’m not saying Taeyong is still an alleged bully. I’m only stating that you guys don’t know your faves. The things you “see” on VLive and wherever you watch them isn’t always who and what they truly are. If anything, that could just be how their agency tells them how to behave.

  8. He already apologized and it’s all in the past now gosh. Leave him alone. He is doing his best! And if he was still like that then his members should’ve hated him! but they didnt! They loved TY and they are supporting him! I know bullying someone is not a joke but come on. It’s all in the past why are they saying about this issue now, now that TY is known and an idol. Obviously, they are JEALOUS so they wanna drag him down from.where he is. BUT JOKES ON THEM A LOT OF PEOPLE STILL SUPPORTS TY NO MATTER WHAT!
TY WE LOVE YOU! KEEP DOING YOUR BEST WE WILL ALWAYS BE HERE TO SUPPORT YOU!!

  9. He might of did something bad in his past and had a not so nice personality but people can change because I am like that and I am still trying to be a good person.
So stop judging him because of his past and everyone being mean to him, your acting like you’ve never did one bad thing your life and that’s bullshit.
So I hope you can have a change of heart and understand where he is coming from and know that he is apologizing for his past actions and reflecting deeply.

  10. these people remember bad things only when someone becomes an adult this b person whoever they are or the allegedly bullied a and their family( if he told them of course well they would’ve know after the box cutter thing) should’ve sued taeyong. also if that was in middle school wasnt he like 13-15? you’re bringing up a story from almost 9 years or so to fu k taehyung’s career up. he apologized and stopped bullying so what else do they want? for God’s sake if you want attention then work for it. ” hes got a shitty personality ” that’s not what nct members and staff say. these people dont realize that one can change drastically. there’s always good in someone.
