SM has told various news outlets who the outside force is they’ve been claiming after responding to the recent lawsuit filed by EXO Baekhyun, Xiumin, and Chen!

On the 1st of June, an SM representative stated to Maeil Business Star Today, “It is true that we have sent a proof of content to Big Planet Made Entertainment.”

It has been revealed that SM sent a proof of content to Big Planet Made Entertainment after capturing evidence of their attempts to approach SM artists Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin and induce them to enter into contracts with them.

Later, Big Planet Made Entertainment countered the report in an interview with Sports Seoul, stating, “MC Mong met the junior artists out of personal connections, but there was no intention of recruitment,” and “MC Mong is not currently an executive director at Big Planet Entertainment.”

Big Planet Made Entertainment, headed by composer Park Jang-geun, is home to artists such as Ren, VIVIZ, and more.

However, Big Planet Made Entertainment acknowledged that they did receive a proof of content from SM.

In a press release distributed on the same day, the legal representatives of Baekhyun, Xiumin, and Chen confirmed that the three members had notified SM of the termination of their exclusive contracts.

The members’ legal representatives stated, “SM not only entered into long-term exclusive contracts of 12-13 years but also coerced the artists to sign additional contracts, extending the minimum contract period to 17 or 18 years,” and they claimed, “This is an extremely unfair and oppressive act by SM towards its artists.”
