The Nam Joo Hyuk’s Bullying Accuser Who Was Fined Over $5000 Requests Formal Trial
Nam Joo Hyuk’s former classmate, Mr. A, who claimed to have been a victim of school violence by Nam Joo Hyuk, has objected to the summary order of a fine on charges of defamation.
Mr. A’s legal representative, Lawyer No Jong Eun of Junsae Law Firm, stated on the 8th of April to Sports News, “We have requested a formal trial at the Uijeongbu District Court in Goyang.”
Mr. A, who is a former high school classmate of Nam Joo Hyuk, reported that he was a victim of school violence from Nam Joo Hyuk’s group, and journalist Mr. B from an internet news site reported on this.
In the process, Mr. B dealt with the content that Mr. A was a victim of school violence from Nam Joo Hyuk, and Nam Joo Hyuk’s agency stated, “We have criminally charged B, who wrote false articles, and A, who made false reports, on charges of defamation,” and appealed, “We sincerely hope that the truth will be clearly revealed and Nam Joo Hyuk’s tarnished reputation will be restored.”
The Uijeongbu District Court in Goyang issued a summary order of fines of 7 million won [$5165] each for Mr. A and Mr. B. Mr. A objected to this and requested a formal trial.
Lawyer No Jong Eun, Mr. A’s attorney, explained to Sports News, “The article was incorrect, as it stated that Mr. A claimed to have been a victim of school violence by Nam Joo Hyuk, when in fact he claimed that Nam Joo Hyuk’s friends were the ones who had been victims of school violence. Mr. A has evidence that he was a victim of school violence by Nam Joo Hyuk’s friends, and he reported that Nam Joo Hyuk had committed school violence against his friends.”
He continued, “There were several people who reported school violence by Nam Joo Hyuk. Although I did not meet those individuals, the aim of this trial request is to clarify whether or not Nam Joo Hyuk committed school violence through their testimonies.”
Nam Joo Hyuk enlisted in the military in March of last year and is currently fulfilling his military service.
