SF9 leader Youngbin expressed his feelings about Rowoon‘s departure.
On the 18th, Youngbin posted a letter to the group’s fan café, he wrote,
Hello, FANTASYs. This is Youngbin.
I wonder what I should say to FANTASYs, who must have been worried and surprised by today’s announcement. I can’t help but worry if I didn’t hurt your hearts even more.
I am sorry that I can’t do anything other than repay the Fantasies who support SF9 with a better image.
During the recent vacation period, I had many conversations with Rowoon. Those conversations were a mix of the many things we experienced together for the past 7 years, as well as the complex and subtle emotions we feel now. However, I will continue to support Rowoon’s future, and I hope that someday our sincere feelings will reach him, and he will smile brightly again, just as before.
As everyone knows and feels, SF9 was only possible because of the FANTASYs who always watched over and loved us. I hope you will keep watching over us as SF9 continues to run even harder, remembering that SF9 exists because of FANTASYs.
Lastly, I hope that the FANTASYs, who may be hurting, will have a short night. Thank you always.
Earlier on the same day, SF9’s agency FNC Entertainment announced that the first exclusive contract period for SF9 members had expired. Rowoon has decided to leave the group and pursue acting, while SF9 will regroup as an 8-member group and continue with new activities.
Meanwhile, Youngbin is currently serving in the military and is scheduled to be discharged in 28 days.
