Seventeen’s S.Coups has received an exemption from military service.

On the 1st of March, Pledis stated, “S.Coups received surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, as well as reconstruction surgery for the anterior cruciate ligament and lateral collateral ligament” and added, “Due to the extensive surgery, he underwent a long period of rehabilitation therapy starting from last year.”

“Following this, S.Coups was classified as a Grade 5 in the physical examination,” they added.

According to the Military Service Act, Grade 5 in the physical examination means there is no military duty obligation, and they only support military tasks in emergency situations. Born in 1995, S.Coups, who is 29 years old this year, was supposed to enlist within this year based on the active duty criteria.

S.Coups underwent surgery for a knee injury last August and focused on rehabilitation therapy.

Previously, the agency stated, “After consistently receiving treatment and taking sufficient rest, the injured area has somewhat improved. He received medical advice that he can proceed with his scheduled activities within a reasonable limit that does not strain his body.”

Meanwhile, S.Coups will be returning to team activities starting this month.
