Some fans of the idol group aespa are expressing strong backlash regarding member Karina’s admission of dating actor Lee Jae Wook. There was even a truck protest demanding an apology from Karina.
On the 4th of March, there were numerous posts on Ex (X, former Twitter) stating that a truck protest appeared in front of SM Entertainment’s headquarters.
In the attached photos, the LED display on the truck read messages such as “Karina, is the love from fans not enough for you?”, “Why did you decide to betray your fans?”, “You should feel sorry for yourself who has been working hard for 7 years rather than apologizing to fans”, “You have ruined your own career. All your efforts are being negated by dating rumors.”
Fans demanded an apology from Karina, warning that if she doesn’t apologize, they will see a decrease in album sales and empty concert seats.
Since the news of Karina’s relationship with Lee Jae Wook on the 27th of last month, SM Entertainment’s stock prices have been dropping continuously. On the 4th, the stock closed at 74,500 won, down 3,700 won (4.73%) from the previous day.
Added to that, last night Karina wrote a handwritten apology letter to the fans regarding her dating news.
