Oh My Girl member Mimi has made headlines for her recent admission about the harsh reality of the kpop idol industry!
On the 27th, Mimi appeared on the YouTube channel ‘Noppakku Tak Jae-hoon,’ and revealed, “I was in a deficit for the past 8 years.”
In the video, Mimi talked about her YouTube channel ‘MemPD,’ saying, “I edit everything myself. I don’t receive any help from the company for YouTube earnings, so I earn it all by myself. Now, it has grown a bit, and I’m working with a crew.”
Tak Jae-hoon asked, “Aren’t you sorry for the other members if you earn a lot of money alone?” To this, Mimi responded, “The other members earned money before me. It’s only after 8 years that I started making money. They made money within 1-2 years, whereas I was in a deficit for 8 years. It’s unfair.” When asked, “Who earned the most?” she said, “Everyone didn’t easily reveal it.”
She also mentioned, “I do a lot of gold tech (investment in gold). I like real estate investment, but I don’t have any. I want to buy a building and live there.”
When asked, “Who is living in the worst conditions among the members?” Mimi humorously replied, “Me,” causing laughter.
