NIve Issues An Apology To BTS Fans After Misinterpretation Of His Interview On Who Wrote V’s “Blue&Grey” Spreads Online
NIve has posted an apology to BTS fans after he was accused of falsely implying he’s wrote/produced “Blue&Grey,” a collaboration song he’s done with BTS V.
The issue stems from January 8 episode of “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook.” During his interview, Yoo Hee Yeol asked him about his collaboration with BTS V, the song was originally supposed to be released as part of V’s solo mixtape but it was added as a track on the group’s album “BE” instead.
Per fans knowledge, V personally shared that he wrote the song while going through hard times. However, one account mistranslated the interview NIve had done with Yoo Hee Yeol and it caused him severe backlash.
In the interview, the mistranslation suggested that Yoo Hee Yeol referred NIve as an original composer of the song, and NIve did not correct him, hence the backlash. Some fans began to attack him without making sure the translation was accurate. This in turn led to an official apology and explanation by NIve which he posted to his twitter account.
The apology and explanation was posted in English. In his statement, he assures fans he’s never once claimed he wrote/produced the song. He also references how there appears to be a misunderstanding in the interview in the way the ‘original composer’ title was referenced, he apologized for not recognizing that it could be misinterpreted.
He ended his apology by clarifying he’ll never try to take advantage of V and will reach out to him separately to apologize and clarify.
