Nam Tae Hyun Admits He Tried To Take His Own Life, Begs Netizens To Stop Leaving Hate Comments
Nam Tae Hyun has posted to instagram again in light of Sulli’s tragic passing, this time begging netizens to stop leaving hate comments.
On October 17, Nam Tae Hyun expressed his thoughts about malicious hateful comments netizens leave on articles about celebrities and how much they hurt him; he also says he tried to take his own life because of them.
He posted:
“I don’t want to lose any more friends or colleagues.”
Just like you all, people who work as ‘celebrities’ are people too.
I am a celebrity who received a lot of malicious comments.
This is why it hit close to home.
She. My friend… I wonder how much pain she was in [referring to Sulli]
And there was a time too when I thought I couldn’t take it anymore and attempted to end my life as well.
A lot of celebrities are hurt by the comments you post on a whim more than you think. Many people tell me to not look at such mean comments, but when my name starts trending and people start texting me asking me what happened, it’s not hard not to look at them.
Please stop this. I don’t want to lose any more of my friends and colleagues.”
Nam Tae Hyun has been the victim of hate malicious comments for various reasons across the years. It started when he announced his departure from WINNER and YG, his acting debut in a drama also gained lots of negative attention due to his acting. He was also recently embroiled in controversy after his former girlfriend Jang Jae In exposed him for cheating on her. Since then, many k-netizens opinions of him changed for the worse.
