Group MONSTA X member Hyungwon (29) is enlisting in the military.
On the 20th of October, Hyungwon posted a handwritten letter on Monsta X’s official fan cafe, stating, “Among all the writings I’ve done, this one feels the most strange. I will be enlisting on November 14th.”
He continued, “I feel more relieved than disappointed. My goal is to come back as someone who is strong and reliable enough to withstand any wind blowing towards ‘Monbebe’ (fan club name).”
Hyungwon added, “The day I will be discharged is May 13, 2025. I’m already excited and looking forward to meeting Monbebe the next day. Let’s meet each other with smiling faces.”
Prior to Hyungwon, MONSTA X members Shownu, Minhyuk, Jooheon, and Kihyun began their military service. The oldest member, Shownu, completed his service as a public service worker and resumed his entertainment activities in April. Minhyuk enlisted in April after Shownu’s discharge, Jooheon in July, and Kihyun in August. The member who has not yet enlisted is I.M.
Meanwhile, Hyungwon debuted with the other members of MONSTA X in 2015.
