IU Revealed To Have Received Death Threats, Agency Strengthens Protection + Police Revealed To Have Been Dispatched
Singer and actress IU‘s agency, EDAM Entertainment, recently revealed that she has been receiving death threats and announced that they will take strong measures in response to this.
On the 6th of October, EDAM Entertainment released a statement saying, “We are currently proceeding with legal and criminal procedures to hold those responsible for the indiscriminate slander and illegal actions against our artist accountable, in accordance with the ‘zero tolerance principle’ that does not tolerate such behavior online and offline. We are also preparing additional follow-up measures.”
In particular, they stated, “Recently, a report of death threats against our artist has been filed, and as a result, law enforcement agencies have urgently responded by dispatching personnel to our office, as well as to the offices of Kakao Entertainment and the artist’s residence. The level of violence and aggression towards our artist has already gone beyond acceptable limits.”
