Looks like the fans’ reaction to RIIZE’s Light Stick has prompted SM’s staff to change direction.

Previously, on March 5, RIIZE shared a teaser featuring a shadow of a hand pointing upwards with the words “RIIZE Official Fanlight Coming Soon.” Originally, the lightstick was supposed to be released in April.

However, as soon as the teaser dropped, various fans from all around the world had complaints about the design. Some fans likened the design to that of Epik High’s light stick, others said the shape is similar to an insult gesture in some countries including Japan and there were some who thought the design was simply not good enough.

Fans began voicing their opinions about RIIZE’s Light Stick on SNS and on the report platform to SM and it seems to have worked.

On March 6, fans noticed a new post about the light stick was uploaded, it reads, ‘official fan light will be released in April.’

It seems that SM staff has listened to the feedback and is going back to redesign RIIZE’s light stick.

What did you think of RIIZE’s light stick original design?
