(G)I-DLE‘s Minnie and Yuqi shared a story about how they found out a man was speaking to both of them, from their trainee days.
On the most recent episode of JTBC’s ‘Knowing Bros’ that aired on the 3rd, (G)I-DLE’s Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua appeared, returning with the title track ‘Super Lady’ from their second regular album ‘2’ (Two).
During the episode, Soyeon talked about the distribution of parts, saying, “Part distribution is challenging. In the past, I gave out parts that matched well. I’m in my seventh year. I always want to bring change. So, I tried various attempts, saying, ‘I’d like this part to be sung by a member like this.’ Then Kim Hee-chul joked, “If Soyeon produces it, and if another member says, ‘What is this part?’ Soyeon can say, ‘From now on, you have no parts,'” revealing a humorous anecdote.
Upon hearing this, Yuqi shared, “I have that kind of mentality. I always tell my sisters, ‘I want to do this part.’ But I’m always anxious. ‘Next time, I won’t have my part,’ I said that once,” revealing her thoughts.
In addition, Minnie mentioned, “Honestly, I was always satisfied with my parts, but this time, I’m a little disappointed. I usually got the intro. This time, as soon as I heard the intro, I said, ‘This is mine.’ It has an impactful intro. I worked hard because I was too excited, but Soyeon took it away.”
Minnie and Yuqi also revealed a rule they set back during their trainee days. Yuqi said, “Minnie and I were roommates when we first came to Korea. We had no secrets. When I first came to Korea, there were not only girls but also men.” She continued, “There was a guy I liked for the first time. I contacted and got along with him.” She added, “One day, I received a message from Minnie, and it was that guy’s name.” Yuqi said she had never heard of Minnie contacting that person, and Minnie responded, “It turned out to be us,” revealing their rule not to like the same person if they become a team later on. The members then agreed that if a man contacts one of them, the other members would be told about it.
