Former B.A.P member Himchan (real name Kim Himchan) has been revealed to have committed another sexual offense while undergoing trial for sexual assault charges.
According to Yonhap News on the 24th of October, the first trial on charges of rape and sexual assault under the Special Act on the Punishment of Crimes of Sexual Violence (filming with cameras, sending explicit materials using communication media) was held at the Seoul Western District Court’s Criminal Agreement Division 12 (Chief Judge Kwon Sung-soo).
According to the prosecution, Himchan is accused of raping a victim who he had taken to his home in May of last year, and then illegally filming her. He is also accused of sending explicit materials to the victim in June, during the process of contacting her.
At the time, Himchan was already undergoing trial for the previous sexual assault case.
Himchan admitted to the charges during the trial, and the victim side demanded strict punishment, stating that they have no intention of reaching a settlement.
Himchan was indicted in April of the previous year for sexually assaulting a woman at a pension in Gyeonggi Province in July 2018. In February 2021, the court sentenced him to 10 months in prison in the first trial, and the appeal trial held in February this year upheld the initial ruling.
He has since been serving his 10-month prison sentence.
In addition, Himchan was also prosecuted in October of the same year for sexually assaulting two women while intoxicated on the external stairs of a bar in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu in April of last year.
