BTS RM had recently received some backlash from some Muslim fans after he shared a song by Frank Ocean, and he finally addressed the situation!

On August 30, BTS RM held a live broadcast to talk to fans. During the broadcast, he addressed the situation and subsequent backlash he received for sharing a Frank Ocean’s song titled ‘Bad Religion.’

The song garnered backlash for its potential Islamophobia with some fans citing the song’s lyrics. At the time, RM did not directly release a statement or address the situation.

However, in his recent live broadcast, he said this,

You guys keep saying I insulted a religion, but I didn’t. There was no intention or purpose to insult any religion that I respect. I respect all beliefs and religions. I know what’s going on on Instagram; I can see. But there was no such purpose or intention to insult a religion, okay? Guys, it’s just a song, okay?
I’m not apologizing; I’m 30 years old, and I can express my truth. Please remember that a word is just a word.
Don’t assume! Believe my words. I know I can’t convince every person, and some might say, “Oh, you’re lying; you’re insulting.” But I just can’t lie, guys. I can’t lie to you. I’m being honest. I’m fine; there are no problems. I’ve heard there are problems and noises around. Some people keep messaging me about that. Please believe me. I didn’t want to talk about this, but some people are making me address it. I can’t keep it in any longer; I just have to say it. If it’s just me, believe my own words. Please have a heart.

What do you think of what RM said?
