BTS Nominated For 3 VMAs, EXO, MONSTA X, TXT And More Receive A Nomination

The 2020 VMAs has released the nomination list and BTS leads as the Kpop act with the most nominations for the award show.

BTS was nominated for a total of three categories, Best Pop, Best K-Pop and Best Choreography. BTS has become the first Asian artist to be nominated for ‘Best Pop.’

BTS “ON” will be going up against Halsey – “You Should Be sad,” Jonas Brothers – “What a Man Gotta Do,” Justin Bieber ft. Quavo – “Intentions,” Lady Gaga with Ariana Grande – “Rain On Me,” and Taylor Swift – “Lover” for the Best Pop category.

BTS’ “ON” will go up against CNCO & Natti Natasha,  “Honey Boo” DaBaby,  “Bop” Dua Lipa – “Physical,” Lady Gaga with Ariana Grande – “Rain On Me,” and Normani – “Motivation” for the Best Choreography. This category cannot be voted for.

Meanwhile, here are the Kpop acts nominated for Best K-Pop:

EXO – “Obsession”
Monsta X – “SOMEONE’S SOMEONE”
Tomorrow X Together – “9 and Three Quarters (Run Away)”
Red Velvet – “Psycho”

Notably, fans have noticed that BLACKPINK was excluded from the nominations despite breaking various records with their 2019 comeback.
