Singer BoA revealed her discomfort towards malicious commenters.
On the 29th of March, BoA wrote on her Instagram replying back to what some netizens had been saying about her looks after recent posts she’s made. BoA had recently shared photos. Those photos were posted to online communities where some began to criticize her looks and talking about the singer allegedly getting too much filler in her face.
BoA addressed the plastic surgery rumors and said, “If I don’t manage, I get cursed at, and if I do, I still get cursed at.” She also attached a photo of herself smiling.
BoA was referencing the time she was told to gain weight because she had lost too much, but then received comments saying she looked like a pig after gaining weight. She lashed out at those who continue to meddle, saying, “I don’t know your faces, but don’t waste your life like that. I’m sorry, but I am BoA.”
BoA recently appeared in the drama “Marry My Husand” which ended last month. At that time, she was criticized by some netizens for her lips looking unnatural. There was also controversy over plastic surgery, to which she explained on her social networking service, “I have a habit of pouting my lips, so it looks smeared.” She reassured that her lips were fine, saying, “Don’t worry. My lips are okay.”
Following the excessive criticism towards BoA from some netizens, her agency SM Entertainment also stepped in. On the 8th of last month, SM stated that they would take strong measures against malicious defamation and other criminal acts towards their artists.
There is a growing trend of celebrities stepping up to clarify the situation themselves. Despite this, there are voices calling for an end to the continuous malicious insults. The hope is to support each other and create a better world by looking at each other with kind eyes.
